Angry Dan is a poet and a painter. He writes limericks about all aspects of modern life and culture, then paints them as colourful public artworks that appeal to all ages and across all demographics. Last year he proposed he’d paint a public mural about the climate change crisis at each of the Nordic Fringe Venues. For 2021 this remit has expanded to include a work that speaks to our new community post-Covid; after 12 months of social-isolation who are we now and where we do we go from here?
Dan is very happy to be photographed and speak with members of the public while he paints his murals - making the process a live event as well a finished piece of artwork. This year Dan will create a digital film on the creation of each muraI using a specialist time-lapse camera to provide work-in-progress video footage for each painting. These short films will be shared as a digital element to the legacy of the Angry Dan mural for years to come.
